My Son Will Join the Wolves

Inspired by a brutal Anatolian legend, My Son Will Join the Wolves follows Nedim, a boy standing at the threshold of a violent coming-of-age tradition. While his ancestors found identity in the slaughter of wolf cubs, Nedim chooses a different path: refusal. By turning his back on the village ritual and vanishing into the forest, he sparks a destabilizing shift in the natural and social order.

Based on the short story The Wolf and Nedim (2010) and the fine art photography series Nedim’s Refusal, this 9-minute experimental short invites the audience into an older mode of storytelling. Through a rhythmic, kinetic lens, the film explores the weight of heritage, the price of exile, and the visceral moment of human transformation.
